Let’s not kid ourselves that it is just politicians anymore. Any time you read articles on gaming websites about how video games need to mature or video games should be better (in some coded moral/ideological sense) or the word “regressive”, that’s the same s*** coming from the same kind of mentality.

Also, the entire rest of the world knows you Americans suffer from mass insanity on a cultural level. You just dont k ow you’re crazy because you’re the one that’s crazy.

I live in a country where semi auto weapons are available without repeated mass shootings. Has it occured to you that guns are problem in America because Americans are fucking crazy? Why is it that we can have semi auto rifles up here in Canada with no problem, but just over the border our retarded cultural cousins to

So your solution is to just give up and die? Raise your hands up and hope the armed combatants don’t shoot you? I’m sorry, but I choose not to give up so easily.

To make a serious counter your point about semi-automatic gun/rifle ownership:

Our society does glorify violence and death to further their political agenda, just as many articles on Kinja websites have done in the past few days.

I think that owning a semi-automatic weapon is completely appropriate, it’s once people start owning automatic weapons that things become dangerous.

That’s a part of the problem. The anti-gun refuse to learn about guns. But lets be honest the gun side also refuses to acknowledge the fear that anti-gun proponents feel. They often tell them to grow up or that their world view is wrong. And while those things may be true it doesn’t serve to further the discussion.

I’ve seen a few comments inviting the gun debate. But honestly it never goes anywhere both sides simply bash on each other and only read to respond not to understand the others position.

The show aired on cable in Canada. No way would I be dropping down cash on CBS All Access for this.

Did it look fantastic? Because it sure as HELL did NOT look the any
Enterprise I ever saw.

Fuck. That. Shit. If JJ’s timeline becomes the established canon, I’m fucking out. Seriously. As much as I’ve enjoyed this first season, I’m not sticking around if this show is set in his (shitty) timeline. I only saw the first of his movies and, while entertaining, barely resembled what Star Trek is about. Change

I’m really hating all the Voyager hate. Yes, yes, I agree with most of the criticisms of the show, including Ron Moore’s epic rant, but to lump Voyager in with Enterprise, a truly terrible series (save the end of season three and nearly all of season four), is kind of ridiculous.

You mean like TNG, DS9 and VOY didn’t do for the better part of the 80s and 90s?

Do you have any evidence to back up this claim? The producers and writers of every previous show have cared about these things, as evidenced by how much work they did to make the Trek franchise into a consistent universe. I would hypothesize that most fans who have taken the time to actually experience the entire

Star Trek is also a franchise set in a universe that has a strong continuuity between the series. Other shows have managed to create their own unique visual style without completely breaking the visual canon of what came before.

I feel like I’m in a different universe than Zack here.

Can you explain how ignoring visual canon is positive for the series? At best it is neutral. At worst it is bad for the fans who care about continuity.

It is clear that they are ignoring canon period, at least when it comes to visual style. The previous shows respected the visual canon of earlier shows, even after their budgets allowed the kind of visual retroconning we see in Discovery.

OMG! more SJW bull crap! Not only is the only straight white male dead, a female Klingon is now in charge. Yeah SJW Power™
