I mean, the DomZ have some serious brainwashing shit in the first game, so maybe this is a precursor to that? It’s really spotlighted that Jade has a deep connection of some kind with the DomZ, either through her powers or through her bloodline, so maybe she was captured when she was younger (Pey’j mentions knowing

Ugh, I’m not a fan of multiverses being a macguffin to solve narrative problems.

I hope it’s not dumb story telling so they can shoehorn her into it.

It’s interesting that she was recognized as well - and with a look of surprise that sounded a lot like, “The Jade I know isn’t evil.” So, probably some shenanigans going on.

Yeah she was like 20 in the original game. How are they going to have a teenage version of her be evil and all that, then become the slightly naive but optimistic and competent heroic 20 year old?

According to Todd there is a whole story to do solo. You just have the option of having other players exist in the world at the same time.

Should probably update this with Todd saying you can go completely solo offline still if you choose.

There is a lot you can say about Fallout 76, but there’s one thing you definitely can’t call it.

So it’s an MMO? Was Destiny really that fucking fabulous? I mean I have read nothing but bitching and moaning about that game for literally years now, but everyone needs to make a clone FFS? How much money does Cyberpunk have to make to get these fuckers to make a couple more games like CD Project Red?

So you’re mad they did their job explaining the game clearly for a wide audience, is what you’re saying.

This announcement was one of the most cringeworthy things I’ve ever seen. For instance, the lady with the microphone seriously asked Vince Zampella if you could use a lightsaber in a game about Jedi.

Technically, Ancient Greece extends into the 3rd and 4th centuries AD.

What I find more surprising than the time period is the timing. I thought Ubi moved to one AC game every two years?

It’s possible that the “animus inside an animus” thing from Revelations will be expanded upon. There it was Desmond using the animus to relive Ezio’s memories, who used those piece of eden CDs to relive Altair’s memories. Maybe instead of a present day/past era divide, Odyssey will have present day/immediately after

This is interesting, and conflicts with another rumor I saw that it took place in Greece, but later during the Roman Flavian dynasty. Taking place during the Persian or Peloponessian wars makes more sense.

You know Cleopatra was Greek right?

Hell no. You probably mean Classical Greece. Ancient Greece lasts until the end of antiquity (that is: the start of the Middle Ages), so when they say Ancient Greece it could be anytime between 800 BC and 600 AD.

Perhaps they meant that it’s a sequel in terms of established mechanics (like, it’s to “Origins” what “Syndicate” was to “Unity”) rather than in terms of story?

While Origins tells the story of the creation of the Assassins, I thought it was interesting that the hidden blade had already been crafted and used before Bayek obtained it. Aya says it was used to kill Xerxes. Perhaps we will see the blades creation during the Persian and Greek wars in the new game?

I was going to say the same thing. Odyssey period is 1200 BC, Cleopatra is like 50-30BC.
