I switched from a 3GS to a Droid X and really loved the 4.3" screen. Not big enough to be bulky but I loved the added real estate. No idea what the resolution difference is, but the added space for my finger was well worth it.

I have been thinking as well. I have become a lot less 'app' happy. I don't really have much installed on my Droid X. The only things I use often are: Facebook, Tumblr, Words With Friends and Google Maps/Navigation.
