How many of those 700k copies will ever have the plastic taken off and see the light of day? I imagine the vast majority of buyers are people think they have a collector’s item. Like the Franklin Mint plates of 2024.

Never have I wanted a project to unravel more than this one. I can’t put into words how much I do not want this to come to fruition. In a time of lazy reboots and sequels/prequels, just let this one go. Daniels doesn’t need the money. Just move on.

I put Annihilation in the same category as The Cell (yeah, the J Lo film)--bad movie that at least looks good.

“Will The Butcher be able to escape the trap, and be able to do so without letting his daughter know he’s an evil villain?”

Sometimes I think Tarantino fans are as full of themselves as Tarantino is of himself.

I’m sure there are pictures out there to prove me wrong, but I find it hard to believe that publicity material from Disney doesn’t come with some sort of “(c) Disney 2024" somewhere on it.

“Deliberately hollow” is a perfect way to describe things like blowing up the Lincoln Memorial. I can see Garland rubbing his hands together thinking ‘yeah, this’ll get some comments!’

What a lousy excuse to shoehorn in unnecessary slideshows.

Good lord, and this is just a play. Imagine if this were actually a movie being made.

The cynic in me says they only want to do it because of the money. It’s been off the air (and streaming!) for long enough that it will not be in the zeitgeist anymore. Move on. The real world stuff was only slightly interesting, so when two entire seasons took place there, well, it was literally NOT Westworld anymore.

Call me crazy, but I’m kinda tired of all the Godzilla and Kong reboots over the years. Serious question, are either of these at the top of the list for most reboots? I think Hollywood always gets slammed for unoriginal material.

I’m not here to defend Cohen, but Rebel kinda sounds like an asshole, too.

Throw “The Crow” into the ‘I can’t believe it was greenlit’ category, too.

To be fair, I wouldn’t want to watch this on a guy’s ass either.

Or if not, simply say “I’m just doing as Demme told me to do.”

It is strange to me that the US can compel a non-US company owned by a country on the other side of the planet to do, well, anything! And to force it to be handled by a US company seems... shady and self-serving to say the least.

Why do we need theories? Why can’t it just have not been the strongest in each category it was in? I’m glad they didn’t just give it awards “just because.”

I hate Paul as much as the next person, but there is some version of this story where he beats Tyson.

Dear AV Club,

Wait, are you on MrBeast’s payroll, perhaps as a PR person?
