It would be nice to evolve someday, where racist assholes like these two can be thrown on the dustbin of history. Kudos to the dealership for acting quickly and reaching out to the public regarding the incident (instead of remaining silent and just hoping it would blow over).
I feel bad for the family, especially

Pop left his fairly-newish Mustang 5.0 behind when he moved to Florida, taking the Nissan 4 door whatever it was with them instead. Dad was always a car guy, so we were perplexed. Until we lived with the thing.
Other than going fast in a straight line, what a pile of unreliable shit that car was. It’s only appeal was

Yep. And most people I’ve encountered who made the switch from American made to Japanese/Korean (no matter where it’s been assembled) are usually so delighted (and shocked) with the experience of owning a car that remains solidly reliable for over 100k that they write off Ford/GM.

This is what kills me. Why can’t we have wagons in the US? I tend to think that they are far more reasonable choices for so many people. And while there are cars with ample room that aren’t behemoths—the HRV, the Kona, pricey European wagons, and the lone ‘Sporting’ Elantra, they’re not readily available. Instead the

...are you my husband? :-)

“So, in terms of luggage, the gate is now the check-in desk, and the jetway is now an impromptu baggage claim for the 50+ bags that couldn’t fit in the overhead bin.”
Truer words were never spoken--err, written.

I make it a habit now to minimize my packing to a ridiculously tiny under seat suitcase and a small backpack for my laptop/gear. And I absolutely cannot stand when people who don’t appear to be infirm insist on wheeling their bag down the aisle, banging and jamming and slowing down exiting. FFS USE THE DAMN HANDLE

I do like that he insisted on having a cop called when he got the willys (hee) re: the insurance-on-phone. Sure, old man driving a ridiculous behemoth—here’s your ticket for shitty driving!
Glad you are okay, and the Jeep made the trek (and back).

Yeah, as much as I bitched in my comments, I STILL miss the thing.

While tough as tanks, we found repairing ANYTHING on these beasts started at $600 and quickly went up the $$$ scale. I loved our used 860 (which came replete with Cheerios strewn everywhere, being the usual ‘mommy-wagon’), it eventually became a money hog, requiring near-monthly repairs of some stupid sort or other.

Hmmm—is that Drucker or Davis art?

OMG this is probably EXACTLY what happened! LOL

THANK YOU for mentioning the idea that perhaps he (and numerous others) should consider runs for congress or senate seats. FFS we won’t get anything done if a Democrat wins the presidency and the senate and/or house are still/once again filled with Republican asshats.
One thing they R’s did right was start

Totally agree with this.

I was a huge fan of the original comic, and I thought the Stallone version really paid decent homage to it. Judge Dredd was never drawn with a scintilla of navel gazing, and I think they captured his take-no-prisoners, bombastic personality. :-)

THIS EXACTLY

Sigh. No it doesn’t. But here I am, responding to the troll-y post.

I’m 58 and I’m still a liberal. In fact, most of the folks I know still hold the same ideology they had when they were young, too (Libs or Cons). I think that’s a trope that may be to dying off. Stupid is forever, however. LOL

I think this is FANTASTIC!

EXACTLY this.
