I'm sure they had to input everything found in a galaxy. Stars, planets, nebula, black holes ext. Calculate gravitational forces and so on. So 8 months isn't bad at all for something that formed around 13 billion years ago. I'm sure they weren't using the fastest super computer out there.

How about this... Planes can fly themselves nowadays. If a distress call is made by a flight attendant or pilot. The planes manual controls are disabled and it is flow by its computer or remote. The knobs and controls will be useless.
