A “joke” would be putting a zip tie around the driveshaft and then asking to go on another test drive (assuming these guys know eachother really well) or some other harmless thing.  5/7 is a scumbag.

Probably worth the asking price if it was in a little better cosmetic shape and had a working clutch.  But given that you can’t easily verify a working transmission/diff, CP.

As someone who has owned and driven all 3 generations (AW11, SW20 Turbo, and ZZW30) this is the best driving of the 3, but these early ones burn oil until the engines go out from the pre-cats. All of the 2001 - 2003 MR2s had this problem, so this one definitely burns oil.
