I’ve ridden the Southwest Chief (Albuquerque > Kansas City, train continues to Chicago) a few times, and never had anything but good experiences. I don’t mind taking a little longer on the trip, there’s enough legroom for me (a 6'1" mostly legs person) to sleep comfortably, and you can bring your own food/booze.

jb weld and tetanus vaccine makers.

as long as that’s the only way to get the ST, I’m in.

I’m 6'1" and fit in a ‘18 Focus just fine.  Maybe you’re doing it wrong.

now put it in a sandrail.

Send up a Miata to give Elon’s Tesla some company.

Now if only they could fix it being so damned ugly.

it’ll be used in the highway chase scene with a white one driven by somebody famous.

They also have great low-end torque. And are more efficient than, say, a big V8. BMW’s been making great straight-sixes for freaking /EVER/ and the reliability, with maintenance, isn’t really that bad. And it’s a great callback to the original Supra’s I6.

that’s attacking someone you don’t agree with. have you learned nothing?

I especially love how there’s a blue paint marker on it, indicating that someone checked that and then let it leave the factory.

username checks out. you’re wrong of course, but you’re entitled to your opinion. it’s not designed to be funny, it’s designed to answer the question “what’s the worst that could happen?”

Ford can say what they like.  ECO is pronounced “Eeko”, no matter where it is.

I drove one, as a rental, back when I’d first gotten my Focus as there were some warranty issues that led to the dealer having my car for a week. I hated every minute.

seconded. I drove one for a week, and I almost would’ve preferred my broken-ass Grand Cherokee instead.

When I was looking at insurance for my Focus, I had quotes from Progessive and Geico of $350/mo (which is basically the same cost as my car payment), while USAA quoted me about $160/mo for car, renters, and valuable personal property insurance.  That was a no-brainer.

I’ve racked up quite a few nights (and miles) with my Hennessy. My only complaint is that the tree straps it came with are too small to go around really big trees, but that’s easily remedied. And it’s compact enough to fit in sidebags on a motorcycle or in a backpack, but it is a touch heavy.  Hennessy’s Snakeskins

Thumb in the way of the slide on a .45 pistol.  Wasn’t holding it right, got a nice little scar and quite a bit of blood for my trouble.

except that you’re putting literally 2-4 times as much wear on your throwout bearing by decelerating in gear, because you’re shifting twice as much. You’re also wearing the clutch more by having it engaged while the car’s decelerating. And brakes are accessible and take about 20 mins to change. Clutches are less
