Haha! I was so used to playing other, less intelligent RPGs that it took me something like a year (real-time) in Ultima V to realize that I wasn’t getting to the good stuff in the game because I kept jacking daggers out of people’s underwear drawers. xD

Not even a little bit. (Well, in all fairness this is Capcom, but Nintendo did actually allow this onto the GameCube, so...)

Nintendo is *really* inconsistent with what they actually manage to object to, when it comes to protecting the chil’uns on their platforms and all, at least by our Western standards. What they think is too spicy for the kids seems to differ at least a little from, say, what Disney would be okay with.

From what I can see - it is a sporadic, but concerning, actual thing, and various redneck gasaholic message boards are trying to make it a bigger thing. The more concerning part about it is going to come when these redneck thugs escalate things, and/or beat the shit out of a Tesla owner just for being a Tesla owner.…

That is how much I loved that game, I never noticed or seemed to mind.

I beat the entire game without knowing once that you could press a button in order to change player commands in subsequent rounds during a fight.

To me - 4 was good, but 2 was great! I wanted to see more Easter eggs/secrets and more variable gameplay in 4 generally considering how late in the cycle it was, plus I felt like it was hobbled by having to continue the plot/continuity of 3 (which was so disappointing to me).  

Yeah, that series was immense and still in many ways better than a lot of games released today. Ultima V was the high-water mark for me - the storytelling! The usurper Blackthorn taking over Lord British’s castle! Open-world gameplay where you could sneak (with extreme difficulty) into Blackthorn’s throne room and…

Yup, I would be hard pressed to name a sci-fi plot that hit the feels harder.  I’d still nominate that title for any top 10 list of the best writing in a game to date.
