Don’t worry, I immediately went to the pants too.
I will support the Space Force on the condition that it agrees to hold to and seek the expansion of the major tenets of the Outer Space Treaty whenever possible - primarily concerning preventing a multilateral militarization of, and nuclear proliferation in, space.
No love for the dude playing Akuma? I thought that guy was fly.
It is absolutely not the “only method”. You can have a camera rendering the scene from a reasonable facsimile of the mirror’s “viewpoint” and presenting that as the mirrored detail, as well.
Let’s see your shot involving a character slowly and realistically reaching into a pocket and then out of that pocket to draw out a single coin, though. ;)
It’s not realtime. The top-level industry giants can do removable, realistic clothing in a prerendered movie, but doing it in a realtime game engine is another whole level of challenge.
Your innate view isn’t far off when it comes to the needs of removable clothing - you indeed have to model the character separately from its clothing for a removable-clothing scene - but it’s the physics and collision interactions between clothing and the human body that are not solved or anywhere close, and may need…
You don’t *have* to copy the models entirely - you can just set up another camera. But that’s not cheap either and it doesn’t work quite as flawlessly as a second set of reality behind the mirror.
Thank you, in turn, for your own measured and polite response.
I am a relative of a former FDIC Chairman, and I will do what I’m absolutely not supposed to do and tell you right up front that it was indeed an inside job.
I know. I wasn’t really taking exception to the term, just pointing out some relevant science, as I love me some science and fully believe in its power to heal our world.
Yeah, how dare we “waste trillions” on healing the sick when there are MISSILES to be built.
1. They are “confronting the emerging threats on a new battlefield” that does not have a great many threats yet.
A short note: “Dino fuels” really aren’t. Fanciful as the notion that you’re driving around on dead dinosaurs is, in reality geologists have done a great many studies - and oil, natural gas, et cetera are largely formed out of the remains of a few billion years’ worth of dead algae and other kinds of plant matter.
It would be a far funnier joke if Tesla’s factories didn’t all drug-test every ground-floor employee for weed. If Elon’s trying to wink-wink nudge-nudge about how he gets to smoke while the peons laboring for him have to be sober, that’s kind of a bad look...but, it’s not like he much cares about optics anyway.
Mhmmm. Do you have any FDIC Chairmen or similar-caliber connections in your background? Do you even know what the FDIC is?
I am just about never a dick on this stuff unless someone comes at me poorly.
It’s funny because it’s true, though.
