Actually, as a game developer, I promise you that mods add to your load time, and that hundreds of mods add a fantastic amount to your load time. Every piece of content that will be made available to you must be loaded. You want hundreds of mods, you have to load the models and other data for all of them.

Agreed. ZBrush’s UI is so bad that I literally bought 3DCoat for voxel sculpting instead - less features, but it doesn’t make me want to claw my eyes out with a spoon every time I turn it on.
