I'm guessing it's a cookie thing. Cookies don't really work across domains - so you clearing out your io9 notifications likely adds a timestamp into your browser's cookie for io9, but cannot affect your lifehacker cookie.

Are you just on io9? Or other of the Gawker sites as well? They all share the same account info and notifications. I have to go clear out the notification pileups on the sites I don't frequent as often all the time - I mainly post on Gawker, and get replies there, but then I hop onto Giz and it says I have 834293894

4) Another thing that's bugged me from day one - you guys have the "Featured" and "All" options at the *top* of the comment section, yet you have the "show promoted" / "show all" options at the *bottom* of the comment section.

One hopes the tech staff are reading these threads.

Someone beat me to the reference below, though.

Aw dang, I guess I should have looked at the comments first... you beat me to it...

EARTHLINGS!

Me too. Emily Rose does an awesome job.

Here's more of the poster series, including Hawkeye. Not a continuous image chopped up, it seems.

I didn't much care for this week's episode. The writers kinda phoned that one in, IMHO. It's the first Futurama that I can recall ever having to make myself sit through. I paused it at least twice to go do other stuff instead.

Yah, makes sense that there's a series of several that fit side to side, with the helicarrier as a whole spanning the series...

Yah, the highway I was on had plenty of speed-limit zones, starting a decent ways before there was even the least bit of curve to the road. Made perfect sense. Limit-lifted signs right after the road straightened back out.

Yah, I was also pleasantly surprised and impressed at highway manners on my trip. Nearly without exception, the lanes left-to-right were populated by faster-to-slower traffic. People would get in the proper lane for their chosen speed and stick there.

It kinda frees you up to focus properly on the road, and the experience, and not on "Is that a cop? Is that a cop? Ohshitohshitoshit".

I got an Audi A4 diesel wagon up to 210kph (about 135mph?) on the autobahn a few times while in France/Germany back in 2005. It was awesome. And I was *still* getting passed by Mercedes, BMWs and other Audis.

"Who wants a mustache ride?"

Yah, I think you're right, thinking about it now. I do recall standalone players being available around that time now that we're stirring up neurons. :)

I dunno if "then" really applies. Wasn't the first Blu-ray player the PS3? I know it's picking nits, but your comment had that "First there was Blu-Ray, and then later, the PS3" sound to it. I don't think Blu-Ray movies became available until after the PS3 was in the wild.

That's not reconciliation.

His posture just says "Yeahhhhh... around here, they call me 'genius'..."
