Couldn’t they catch up with a new hope and then go off in a different direction with a new story line or just do many episodes on a short time span focusing on a single event

This was the worst one hour episode since the Pilot. Just below the Rex returns episode.
Pfft. What they *should* have done is have everyone live, and then go back and digitally put them into Episodes IV-VI.
I keep seeing comments online complaining about the beginning of the film being “confusing” but I didn’t have any trouble following it. I got that there were different rebel factions that weren’t all working together (yet). And I knew Galen Erso’s role would be made clear later on.
why couldnt it be Trump? crap there is no justice.
Right? You don’t go to a Star Wars movie for an air tight plot and cerebral themes. You go see a Star Wars movie because they’re a lot of fun and they make you feel good. That’s where the prequels failed - there was no heart. As long as this one has heart, I’m good.
Still, like a lot of Star Wars films, minor flaws kind of melt away, especially when you get to the third act, and Rogue One is no exception.
I came here to say the same.
Sorry, but holy Jesus upside down on a cross, could you please change the title of your post from something not so spoilery? I have been avoiding anything from that movie for as long as possible, and sure enough, bam, here it is. It’s not enough that we have plot spoiling trailers, but now this?!?!?
Kubo and the Two Strings bombing in cinemas is one of the great tragedies of 2016. Seriously, that movie had it all - if only someone like Dreamworks had been there to give it the push it deserved. Now I worry for Laika.
The Lobster is a fucking amazing movie.
So a prequel movie, a young Han Solo movie, and now a Boba Fett movie, that’ll presumably be set before (?) he falls into the Sarlaac? Three movies set firmly in the past, based on characters from the OT.
A Boba Fett movie seems like the least interesting direction to go in with a stand-alone Star Wars movie. We’re getting a prequel to the first film and a prequel to Han Solo, we don’t need another movie fleshing out the backstory of an element from the original trilogy. They should do something new.
I am so completely not interested in a Boba Fett film, it would probably be the first time I would skip a Star Wars movie. And I’ve been seeing them since 1977.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck’s new Syfy show is all about a
dystopian futurerealistic 2018 where the government has dwindled away and giving corporations have unlimited power.
No fictional story needs to be told. Stop purposefully being a wet blanket.
Clearly, it’s the all time greatest smuggling movie in American history.
Because she’s not playing one. She’s playing an alien.
or....
And is immediately killed by Vader. Yes, I can get behind that.
