Agreed. I’m always going to be a fan of Lee’s artwork after his X-men run, WildC.A.T.S and Hush. His other stuff like Punisher War Journal, Superman, Justice League etc is pretty good too but those first three are really special to me.
2000 was the Blink-182 of its time :/

I clicked through specifically to come to the comments and make my own snarky Dan Quayle comparison. Glad to see someone beat me to it. ;)

Oh there’s another one coming down the pike. What fun! What excruciating fun!!
That was such a shady election.
I remember being in a foreign country in November, watching the election results on CNN in my hotel room, then going to bed thinking “I’m tired, I’ll see who won in the morning.”
I worked at a venue on long Island in 2010s and while we majored in tribute acts one of the owners was friendly with Nine Days. They felt 2015 was the perfect time for a nine days residency. They played 2x a month for 6 months. Each show was a countdown to "story of a girl" until they started opening AND closing with…

My understanding is that Matt Groening and the other producers had a clause written into the contract for the Simpsons that they would effectively have complete creative freedom even in light of studio input. The Simpsons is full of digs at Fox itself as a company and at the Republican Party. They do occasionally take…
Speaking of, the Simpsons also went after Bush 1 when he was in office, after he mocked the family. And of course the entire episode about him, but that was less about his politics.
Next thing he knew, women could VOTE!
This reminds me and I am old enough to remember VP Dan Quayle, in 1992, going after Murphy Brown (also a fictional character) for being a single parent on her TV show.
Fox News and the Fox tv studio are no longer part of the same company.
