I’d say it was about the same as anything else. Women haven’t been taken super seriously in skateboarding but it’s gotten better over time. I can’t think of any racial discrimination though it’s probably happened? I’m sure there are some but I can’t think of any queer skaters off the top of my head.

This is just good feels all around. Awareness is so important and now finally my dude can get the respect he deserves.

From some quick googling, it may have been named that because a different athlete’s dad saw Weddle do the trick and called it that because Weddle was quiet and reserved, but who the fuck knows where it really came from? I am with you, I thought it was a reference to guitars due to the huge overlap between rock/punk…
