Addendum to your third point: antibiotic-resistance is a looming concern. Pick up the wrong strain of gonorrhea, and there's only one treatment (until it mutates past that as well). Hilarity ensues. Testing's so much less traumatic.

Solidarity! He certainly isn't good repentant husband/father material, that's for sure. In a just world, his credit rating would take the damage points. Not that prospects are rosy for a divorced woman with kids. Plus his child-support potential is… impaired.
