If Tolkien's son Christopher Tolkien and the Tolkien Estate have their way then Jackson will not be getting hold of The Silmarillion's canon any time soon. They are not even allowed to mention that canon's content in the Hobbit movies(unless it's already therein from how Tolkien wrote The Hobbit).
