Someone should let Ric (or the lawyers) know.

Also, have you heard Do the Collapse? He almost ruined GBV for me way back when.

This one finally hit me the last couple of days. It was hard to get over my affection for Teens of Style at first.

That's the thing. It's kind of cute really and Ocasek's response was kind of dickish.

Probably good that no one has asked for sympathy then. You know how it is, first world problems, to coin a phrase.

Obviously.

I doubt he would care that much if it was used the way it was here.

Considering that Malkmus has a sense of humor and some humility he'd be probably be flattered.

Let's hope Pavement doesn't sue for the lyrical reference at the end…

You think Ray's got a case?

You're right, the label decided to destroy all the copies because the covers were too pixelated. It had nothing to do with the rights issues.

"They" did.

What is the difference between a sample and a cover? This seems more like a cover than what I think of when I think of "Sample". I'm sure legally, there's no real difference. Just wondering why people are referring to it as a "sample."

You said "write an original riff". I was just pointing out that he has.

Apparently, he did. There are 11 other songs on the album.

To me, it seems ridiculous for Ocasek's people to have all this merchandise destroyed over a mix-up. Does the dude not have a sense of humor at all? I get that it's his right, but really how is this a big deal?

There are vinyl copies on ebay.

Nervous Young Man is a much better name than Car Seat Headrest. I was embarrassed to try and talk Teens of Style up to people because the name is so bad. Great record though.

I always thought his voice WAS the music.

I haven't listened to Radiohead regularly since In Rainbows. I kind of just didn't care about KOL. Been going back and listening to everything from OK Computer - on and it's been really great getting to know them again.
