His follow-up tweets don’t make much sense outside of idling in neutral. Did he not know anything that was happening with the protests and the NBA fall-out?

This is a pretty weak take from Lebron. The idea that the ensuing retaliation from China is a reasonable and expected response for a single tweet that isn’t even particularly controversial, is hilarious.

I think this defense is broadly right—but it still amounts to LeBron saying that the sensitivities of one of the world’s most brutal and repressive regimes should set boundaries on what people in the NBA say in public. Which is fuckin’ gross!

This. Lebron fancies himself the voice of the voiceless, at least until it affects his paycheck. Fake-ass sellout doesn’t have a fraction of the strength of character that Kaepernick has. Fuck Lebron, and fuck the NBA.

A good time to remember that Colin Kaepernick gave up his job and all the considerable perks that come with it to stand up against injustice, while LeBron James, whose legacy and bank account are both more secure, is unwilling to risk even a small fraction of future earnings to speak on one of the few world issues…

The headline could be better. My first thought after reading it was that this transgender person was made fun of in Chappelle’s special and later killed themselves- not that her and Chappelle were friends...
