No reason given not to, either.

Bethesda was fine with paid mods for Skyrim. It was the whiny, entitled gamers that had a problem with it.
That’s dumb. Modding is an easy entry into game development and creating mods is how a lot of people get into the game industry. Is there any good reason they shouldn’t be able to make some money off of their hard work along the way?
That's what happens when you try new things. They don't all work out.
It was certainly a lot more enjoyable that orbital scanning. You don't have to agree, but planet exploring was my favorite part of ME. It was, in fact, my favorite part of the whole franchise. I was bummed they got rid of it.
Yeah, I just disagree completely. I enjoyed exploring the planets. Faster or not, the probing wasn't even gameplay. It was just busy-work.
No way. It was by far the most fun of the three games. Exploring planets wasn't perfect, but it was a hell of a lot better than sending orbital probes.
This is pretty atypical, really. Software emulation usually requires too much processing overhead to provide any performance increase.
I'd settle for controller support for the PC version.
That’s nice and all, but what I’d really like is controller support for the PC version.
No, but development is essentially finished. It's all about manufacturing and distribution now.
I don’t see any evidence that this idea appeals to a larger audience. Just that it cut out part of the audience they’ve already established, including myself. Hence me (and several others, apparently) voicing my negative opinion about the decision.
Because these are still in development.
Because when the game tells you to press the B button, how else would you know what button it's talking about?
No, it's not, and it's really sad that you think otherwise. You're what's wrong with internet discussion.
Of course not every game is for me. That somehow means I’m not supposed to voice my opinion when a developer makes a decision I disagree with? Especially when it’s to a franchise I was really excited for?
Fine, it’s a reimagining, but it’s based on a beloved game with a very specific (and very Spartan) list of features, one of which is now being removed entirely. What does that add to the game? Having the option to use guns would still allow those who don’t want to use them to not use them. Nothing changes for those…
I would assume I’ve defeated them, anyway. I mean...how would I know?
It’s not taking away if you never had it to begin with. Giving us a feature in one game and then removing it in the next one (especially when it was a feature that heavily influenced the gameplay loop, led to interesting player decisions, and was essentially optional anyway) is taking away player options, which is…
Man, how does this keep happening to me?
