I am absolutely willing to pay for music if I have some assurance that the money is going to the artists and not mostly to middle-men.

Doesn't matter, they've raised $100,000 in donations, so they're not worried.
No one was talking to you. You know where the door is.
My god this has gotten tedious. I certainly hope you've gotten some measure of information or enjoyment out of this conversation, because I certainly haven't. Your replies would indicate otherwise, however, which is unfortunate for both of us.
It doesn't cost you anything, but if you really thought I was a troll, you wouldn't bother. So calling me a troll must have just been a means of trying to get under my skin. Name-calling, basically, which just proves my point.
Okay, I get it. Now you're trolling. Hilarious. See, this is what I meant by projection. In being a troll, you can't conceive of the idea that I might not be a troll. You're tilting an windmills and declaring your bravery for it.
I don't know where you think I was being defensive. As I said, your opinions about how I enjoy my toys aren't relevant to me.
I'm not cheating. As I said, I haven't played the game. I'm almost certain we covered that already.
You're really reveling in your anger, aren't you?
I'm responding. If my responses aren't to your liking, stop messaging me. It's like you enjoy being angry.
And if I chose to do that, so what? You are not the arbiter of how art should be enjoyed, especially art that I paid for and have every right to enjoy in any manner I please. If that pisses you off, that's a problem for you, not for me. You should worry more about your own business than about how I choose to play with…
I'm not answering a question about the game. The question was "why would you" buy the game, not "why did you." Since I intend to buy the game at some point, my answer to the question is perfectly valid. If that's pissing people off, is it really me that has a problem, or is it them? (Hint: it's them.)
I'm not making anything into anything. I simply answered the question that was asked. It's amazing how much vitriol that inspires in some people.
Except the question was "Why did you buy the game," it was "Why would you buy the game." Nice try, though.
Wrong. He refuses to sign it because he's in Wal-Mart's pocket. He goes where they go.
It's not cheating if I'm playing offline. There's no one to cheat.
None of which has anything to do with what I was talking about, so...I don't know what conversation you think we're having. Whatever it is, it's gone on way too long and gotten mind-numbingly tedious, so I'm done with it.
Just reiterating a point that you seem to be having a difficult time understanding. Let me try it differently:
Playing offline is part of playing on one's own terms.
Nope. Once I buy the game, it's my game to do with as I please. I can play it, cheat it, or burn it in a fire if I want. It's mine.
