Wait, you’re a completely different person pretending to care about virtual women’s virtue. Man, what a waste of time.

I bounced off Turning Red pretty hard, as nothing in the movie really connected with my experiences as a person, but I certainly wouldn’t say it was a bad movie just because it’s not for me specifically. I know plenty of people, my SO among them, who loved it.

To be honest, no, I did not expect an non-satirical comment to the effect of
“won’t someone think of the virtual women” in this comment section, even on Kotaku.

I only tried it when it was new, but it seemed more like an MTX vehicle than a well-thought out game at the time.

Aren’t there enough real, tangible issues in the world to worry about before you get far enough down the list to worry about people looking at women in video games? At least they gave her underpants? Or would you have been happier with a Barbie-like, genderless model? Or is the issue that you think people will noclip

I just assumed for 20 hours that the fall would kill me until I saw a message saying ‘fight below’ or something to that effect.

I think SE is attempting to really split hairs with what an isekai is usually defined as, which is someone pulled into another world against their will or by dying or something, and having to figure out the new rules as they go. I’m only about a quarter through the actual game but from the ‘secret files’ or whatever

The SE twitter went out of their way to say that Stranger of Paradise is NOT an isekai, so either they were desperate to conceal it despite basically everything in the demos pointing towards it, or something even weirder is going on.

Can confirm that you’re out of touch.

I really feel like there was way more interesting stuff coming out this week than GTA5 for the 4th time or whatever...

Could be, or they could be trying to ‘rehabilitate’ Jack from being Chaos Garland. The artwork that shows when you start the game shows the 5 main characters (one of whom you do not meet in the demo) with their crystals respective auras for Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind behind them, and Jack is above them in the art,

Cool! I’ve only played FF2 the one time, when it was released on that GBA double cart with FF1, and I barely remember anything about it at this point.

I don’t know if the JP acting is better or not, but it’s not my native language and therefore I can’t tell if the inflections are weird or the timing is off, so it’s ‘better’ in that regard.

I mean, the FF trappings are kinda trashy, but the core of the game is a very solid action experience, so...I also pre-ordered it.

The combat IS fun once you get the rhythm of it down. I expect a lot of people going into this game hoping for Final Fantasy Souls will be disappointed, because it’s an action game like NIOH.

If you read the notes and listen to the dialogue, there are hints that other people know something Jack doesn’t, that they’ve met him before and he doesn’t remember it, and that the darkened Crystals they all carry have some kind of effect on peoples memories.

I’m going to make the argument that if you’re playing offline and cheating, you aren’t really experiencing Elden Ring.

They literally call him Tiamat in the linked trailer, and yes, that is the place. Apparently some (all?) of the maps in Origin are based on famous scenes or places from other FF games, and notes I’ve found in the demo confirm that thus far, with the obviously Sastasha inspired caves being said to hail from ‘Dimension

“I’m standing in lava, I wonder what this flame icon under my health bar means?”

You’ll almost be done with the first set of cutscenes by the time your plane lands if you’re going coast to coast.
