even though you might not die from Omicron or any other strain, that doesn’t mean you won’t have a risk of life-long medical issues as a result of catching it. that’s not a “little annoyance” to me.

And how are they doing with the virus? Do the have any other policies that might be different than the ones in the US? I guess you elaborated but only in the most minimal way possible, nothing you said actually explains anything.

I’m curious how much of your life is impacted by wearing a mask. You can “move on” pretty easily while wearing an N95. Just actually wear it.

You realize that part of the reason we HAVE Omicron (and Delta and all the other variants before it) is because we allowed it to spread and mutate virtually unchecked? It’s easy to say “let the unvaccinated spread it to each other, the idiots” but when their spread causes it to mutate to a point where it’s MORE deadly

vaccines help reduce transmission, but masks are the 2nd line of defense (1st being staying to yourself and away from people when you can) and a vaccinated person can still contract and spread the virus asymptomatically (which is the first big issue we realized was bad when SARS-CoV-2 first appeared).

Ok I’ll bite: Why do you say that? Can you elaborate as to why you believe that it’s not a very important public health and safety issue?

How about the unvaccinated under 5 year old children that don’t have a choice?

I don’t mind NOT shooting a bunch of people but it’s the mandate that I can’t shoot a bunch of people that rubs me the wrong way.

If you’re burnt out on this shit, good news, so is everyone else! But half-assing masking and vaccines is only going to prolong this.

Yeah, I’d love to fucking move on.  But I’ve got two kids under 5 that can’t be vaccinated yet.  I have to think about them.  And yes, it’s going to be endemic, but our hospitals are fucking full.  Right now.  So stop being a selfish asshole, and think about others for a minute.

I don’t mind NOT raping puppies but it’s the mandate that I can’t rape puppies that rubs me the wrong way.

Honestly post Covid, I may opt to wear a mask during cold and flu(and probably Covid) season going forward. After bird flu in Asian, a lot of people there do it every year now. It just makes sense to help reduce your risk of catching shit. If this pandemic showed us anything, it showed us that a lot larger portion of

I don’t mind NOT poisoning people’s food but it’s the mandate that I can’t poison people’s food that rubs me the wrong way.

I mean factually ‘yeah’ but obviously your beliefs overrule real life.

To give a more reasonable answer, at least from my understanding, mask mandates are there because hospitals in various regions are hitting capacity. If hospital capacity wasn’t being threatened, chances are we wouldn’t have mandates.

I don’t mind NOT shitting on the floor but it’s the mandate that I mustn’t shit on the floor that’s rubbing me the wrong way.

“the “mandate” portion is starting to rub me the wrong way.”

I mean, personally, I’m pretty sure it’s on the “seasonal cold” mutation track, so we’re ALL gonna get it at some point or another. Still, I’m down with the mask. Works for me, and helped me to stave off most seasonal colds.

Faulty logic since the vaccinated can (and sometimes do) also still catch COVID, and on rare occasion die from it. So your whiney little “im not wearing a mask forever” is literally you saying “fuck you if you die, I dont like the EXTREMELY FUCKING MINOR inconvenience of wearing a mask.”

If you’re talking about the ones with the little plastic valve that has a filter in it, those are mostly for smoke/smog and not recommended for Covid, since they don’t filter the breath coming out at all. I had some for wildfire season before Covid and haven’t been using them at all now.
