I truly do not get the animosity - or even passionate feelings at all - about cargo shorts. They’re just casual shorts with more pocket space.
So with the addition of Colin Powell as a speaker, there are now, by my count, five current, actual Republicans, speaking at the Democratic National Convention. Here’s what one of them had to say: “They fear Joe may turn sharp left and leave them behind. I don’t believe that....He’s reasonable, faithful, respectful,…
Starting this October, a Facebook account will be mandatory for all future Oculus headsets.
I totally trust an app that is a direct rip off of another app that can’t be loaded through the Play Store to not load a bunch of spyware on my phone and steal every last piece of information it can.
Das a rock.
Seriously though. Amazing what science can do for archaeology. Decades ago that would have just been a rock.
Maybe they’ll reassemble Defector style. That’s a lot of good talent going to waste.
I’m honestly disappointed y’all weren’t trying to convince me to buy a Camelbak bladder and fill it with wine since it’s 2020 and why not
Because they aint afraid of no commie china plague that is both a hoax and a man made weapon.
So we’re going to ignore that simple solution of “Stand there and take off your mask for a minute so we can identify you on camera, then you are free to put it back on.” Instead, we need to punish the marxist leftists by taking away their precious masks. What the fuck is even wrong with these people? How long until…
I work at a nuke. There’s a reason USB ports are locked on critical equipment and anything that gets plugged into a piece of critical equipment is tightly controlled.
I think the house has to be moving 88mph...
Hmmm, if lightning strikes near your flux-capacitor brick home, will your home fly off at 88mph?
Good grief... Gizmodo seems to get dumber and dumber every day. What should they use? And please explain how your choice would be as or more secure and save money. Changing a proven system because it’s old is not prudent. Voting ring a bell?
Amen! Just because something is old doesn't mean it's not effective. And it's not like these are huge updates.
I was thinking that running the US Nuclear Arsenal off of 8" floppies would be very secure. If the Chinese or Russian version of Ethan Hunt sneaks in to load malware or steal data, he’s not gonna find a port for that USB drive in his pocket. Even if he knows to bring an 8" floppy, it’s hard to hide one of those in…
All of these reasons are why they are hugely prevalent in corporate espionage. An expensive looking thumb drive was dropped in my old companies parking lot and was turned into our security/IT which plugged it into a computer not connected to any of our networks and sure enough, immediately uploaded viruses, malware,…
Also, last I checked, a floppy disk can’t over-volt your computer and fry the motherboard.
Yes. Although I’d probably be ok with a DVD disk, not because it’s any less fragile than a CD or a 3.5" ‘floppy’, but simply because it can hold more data and is marginally more current. Plus, for plastic disks, it’s either scratched or not scratched. I don’t really see a big problem with having a manually driven…
An example of how bad USB drives are is the Target data hack. Done after someone stuck a USB drive into a port on a server, opening their network up to the hackers. There are a lot worse examples of destructive drives.
