I’m a white guy and have never felt like I was in any way authorized to take the law into my own hands.

I dig it, but I can see it annoying plenty of people.

THEY WERE COMING RIGHT AT ME!

Not only that, but to be correct the balance *and* fade were adjusted. Balance is just left to right in cars, and fade is front to back.

That works at least two out of five tries for me.

I have this sort of mask. On mine, there are two holes in the replaceable filters specifically for the exhalation valves. The exhalation valves are not filtered on most of these masks (respirators are often different and filtered both ways).  I used some pieces of surgical mask to cover my exhalation valves.

I use a valved mask; they’re very helpful for people who wear glasses. They also keep my beard much drier. However, I cut pieces of surgical mask and sealed them to the valve (my valves can be unscrewed). Thus, I have the best of both worlds.

This is a bit of a one dimensional view of “prepping”. I’m in Portland, Oregon and one of my earliest memories is the ash from the eruption of Mt. St. Helens darkening the skies, keeping people indoors, and falling as deep as two G.I. Joe action figures in the driveway (and I guess that’s how I measured things in

We started typing classes at age seven in second grade.  I have been double-spacing for a long time.

Not necessarily. I was in school when the style handbooks still had you type two spaces. After decades of that it’s a hard habit to break. I’m trying in this response but decades of typing muscle memory makes it a very difficult habit to break. Though I initially learned to type on typewriters, the double-space wsa

Forget that. Why should the person who went to the time, effort, and expense of getting PreCheck wait around for an adult who couldn’t be bothered to obtain a convenience for themselves? Why shouldn’t they meet after the line wherever the PreCheck person is enjoying cocktail three?

It’s heresy for some, but I inherited a barely used Chef’s Choice electric sharpener and I’d say it does a great job. I’ve put my whetstones and knife nerdery behind me.

Wait, are we upset about squirt guns now?  I must have missed that memo.  How could they be bad in a way that’s different from other toys?

I’m even closer to my local transit station, but 99% of thtat distance is on a busy two lane road with no sidewalk and 12" or fewer of shoulder. Add in some dark mornings and rain and it becomes very, very dangerous to be a pedestrian.

Our 2013 Prius has this feature and it’s amazing. The car is rarely more than a few degrees warmer than the ambient temp, even when spending all most of a 90+ degree day on the roof of a parking garage.

I am all about the buckwheat pillows. I have a few. They stay cool and offer perfect support. They will also end any pillowfight with one swing.

I kinda sorta agree. It’s definitely NOT the native language of the medical field, but it is the language of people trying to communicate with those who don’t really know jack about their specialty, or the language of those who have spoken to PR lackey first because that’s how their particular job works.

I learned on a manual typewriter at home. Then I learned on an electric typewriter at school. Then I had to take a class on “keyboarding” to get to use the new Apple computers our school purchased. My classes were conducted with a sheet of paper taped to the top of the keyboard - we could slide our hands under the

I just had my checked bag searched last month. They opened my pill organizer and mixed up my pills and crushed a few when the chuckleheads tried to close it again. They also repacked my sneakers on top of my now-wadded-but-once-impeccably-folded dress shirt that was to be worn at a wedding. The mouth-breathers also

We’ve thought about that, but the patties are sold out more often than not at our local stores in Portland, but we’re burger sluts and there are usually bags of crumbles available.
