I was really surprised by how startling I found the destruction of the Odyssey. It was obviously going to happen, but watching the whole nacelle and deflector section get ripped off by the other ship had more of an effect than the standard one big explosion destruction the show usually did.

I missed the cold open and was SO confused by that bit.

I believe the end of the opening titles is the exact shot from last cycle with that flag-like glob added in post. Watch closely, it doesn't move perfectly with Tyra's finger.

I've heard good things about Happy Endings, but the couple times I've caught the cold open after Modern Family, it just seems like it's trying WAY too hard. Presumably it improves with actual viewing.

Continuing the SPOILERy comic related predictions.

I know this is a ridiculous complaint to raise, given the entirety of the franchise, but it bugged me that the Wadi weren't more alien in appearance. Actually, did they have any distinguishing characteristic apart from the pain on their foreheads? Seems like beings from clear across the galaxy should've at least had

The only thing I know about that one is that there is baseball involved. And that everyone says it sucks.

For all the episode's silliness, I think it was this logical inconsistency that bothered me most. Fine, do an episode where the characters get dropped into a board game, but at least try to work out how that game would actually work. I'm not asking for them to lay out the whole rule book, but some indication of how

Best part of Move Along Home: the three officers traversing the edge of the crevasse and clearly just bouncing up and down on their knees while someone shook the camera, every time there was a tremor. I know that's basically how they do all the scenes of the ships getting tossed about or hit with weapons fire, but

It could have been worse. When they did the long pull-back reveal of Sisko in the game, I actually expected him to be a tiny little person on the actual game "board," with giant Quark and Wadi visible in the background.

I have a cat named Ogden (Nash) and a dog named Fitz(william Darcy). Until recently, I also had a cat named Algernon, after the character in The Importance of Being Earnest.

It also matches the Cardassians. I've always liked how the lines of the docking pylons and other architectural elements of the station mimicked the lines of Cardassian anatomy.

I'm in the same boat as you, Zack; I saw a little of DS9 in its original run, an just being a Trek fan means I'm aware of some of the major shift over the years, but I really know very little about it.

Same here. Also, I am kind of a completist about these things. I've already watched through TOS and TNG along with the reviews, and will be doing DS9 as well. So once I get done with that, I''m going to have to keep going through VOY and ENT just to finish it all out, and if they're really as bad as everyone says, it

Congratulations!

In the episode with the real Leah, doesn't Geordi find out she's married? I have to wonder if her first husband died in a suspicious plasma conduit explosion.

I like this comment and the Double Down. Mmmmm…heart attack sandwich.

Seriously. I miss my leftover-turkey sandwiches of a few weeks ago.

You are correct. Or, almost correct. 0.68 seconds.
