Last season, it was “these two officers have underlying chemistry but they are doing their jobs under stress.” That I find interesting. It’s real.

I don’t understand the “fan” impulse to dump on a huge project like this before one scene had been filmed. Clearly, Gunn is trying to start an interconnected universe. Who knows how prominent any of these characters will be. We have no idea.

Bottom line for me is that all the breaks with the trilogy format, which were as obvious as billboards as they were jammed into the characters mouths by the writer( Luke, Kylo), were contrivances. They were very obviously marketing decisions, not creative decisions. And they felt very awkward to me.
