Okie here. For an old car of mine that sits outside, I’ve covered it in several layers of comforters before, then wrapped that whole mess with a car cover and tied it all down. The system obviously has limits, but it’s so far made it through 25 years of OK storms with no hail damage.

I hope their paperwork is in order even if they’re taking the scooters off private property—the formalized arrangements familiar from car towing would seem applicable—rather than public property. They would seem to be on shaky ground, even if many view it as the Lord’s work.

I live in Mexico, formerly from NY City. Usually go back to visit kids and friends once a year. It’s a 13 hour trip, one way, with a 3 hour stopover in Mexico City (no direct flights from my city). I’m never going back by air again. It’s a 35 hour drive, 2 or 3 days if my wife shares the driving. Never flying there…
