Impossible since this assumes the tunnel will actually get built.

^^^The tunnel situation is the most alarming to me. There’s the fire potential, but it’s also such a small tunnel, there’s really no good way to even get in there and do anything about a fire/accident/emergency.

Also, tow shops are going to simply refuse to remove these cars for any price. They can’t afford their whole lots to be burnt down or the environmental clean up costs if it reignites on their property.

As the streets become more and more populated with EV’s, does anyone else see the impending problems with this:

Joke’s on us. If everybody hates his tunnels, he can keep them for himself. He’s building a future where he can live on Mars to escape all us poors. When he does grace earth with his presence, he can zip across cities in his own private tunnels.  Genius.

My thoughts exactly; this is a claustrophobic nightmare and a deathtrap if *anything* goes wrong down there. Could you imagine if there was a fire? Holy shit. Removing safety features and isn’t innovation it’s regression.

So all this money and time spent and they made.... A tunnel?

On the contrary, this thing is so stupid it warrants ridicule from every single GMG writer.

A few other things to consider: that tunnel doesn’t have a walkway on the side. Such walkways are needed for safely evacuating passengers and for tunnel workers to be allowed in the tunnel while traffic is passing by.

Oh yeah then there’s this:

Now playing

If it were an actual test platform, they wouldn’t have drastically changed the design without telling anyone. This is a way for him to show off his $10 million dollar tunnel so that he can attempt to get money from various municipalities to institute this travesty.

Tunnels exist, Teslas exist. WTF did it actually test?

Like what? And how? Get up off Elon’s dick, techbro.

You’ll likely have a long wait. All plastic additive manufacturing processes are terrible at making this sort of part. As far as I know there aren’t any that can do it. Also it’s not affordable except as a desperation move when you own the machine.

Can you imagine the hassle it would be to have an accident down there?

Yeah no traffic jams in that tunnel, nice one Elon!

I’m confused at how Tesla releases Autopilot for public roads but doesn't feel confident in using it in a literal closed environment

Cue the Foghorn Leghorn voice.... I HATE those f’ing things!

Mark my words, the new frontier for money making in automotive parts is custom 3d printing all of those unique plastic clips, hopefully out of a fiber or carbon fiber reinforced plastic.”
