Pssst! Little secret: If you’re 50 and earning less than $25,000 a year freelancing, you probably suck at it!

My mother worked as a secretary in the child support office during the early ‘90s. She had to unlist her phone number because we’d get calls at all hours from mothers and fathers complaining about child support. I find it very difficult to feel sorry for parents that aren’t providing their share for their child.
Before I saw the skin color of the writer, I was going to write a post about keeping your twigs n’ berries wrapped, but then the photo gave me pause. Would the comment be considered as racist based on the skin color of the writer? But I’ll try anyway.
No I saw that too but that’s like two things. You telling me the ONLY non-writing jobs he could get was UPS or pot farming? If true, then fine I guess. But that’s not what he says. He doesn’t say he’s been sending out 50 resumes a week to regular jobs and can’t get hired. He just mentions writing and these two random…
That is an interesting stat on the no quarterly earnings or less than 10k a year thing. I wonder about who might be included in there though. I used to work in payroll and I had employees who would be with us a couple of months, then family services would find them and they’d just disappear. I don’t know how much they…
I’m probably being a huge asshole but I have trouble understanding how the non-custodial parents not paying child support are the victims here.
What'd I'd like to know is how the mothers of your children were keeping it together all this time.
Get a real fucking job. Better yet, get two! You have the time because your kids don’t live with you!. You are a grown ass man, and the fact that you call yourself a writer does not excuse you from being responsible for the lives you created.
Boo hoo cry me a river. My father worked two jobs he didn’t like, that didn’t pay much money, in order to be able to support his kids. FYI my mother worked also. I have a nephew that doesn’t support his two kids and seems happy to have other family members and the gov’t carry his weight. He can’t be bothered to work…
Sitting around waiting for attention in a hospital in a backless gown, bruised, contused, shivering and in shock from assault can take longer than that. Trust me. You’re not an emergency.
Isn’t “slavery” (of a kind) what this is all about, though? Forcing Kesha to work against her will, bound by a contract entered into under false pretenses (Dr. Luke has my best interests at heart / is not a rapist) is a kind of enslavement. She is being treated as this man’s legal property.
He also tried to date rape her at that party and then yelled at her when she said no, but lol, he appreciated her brain! #justjessthings
Shit no, rarely does a public high school kid make it into an IVY league school. It’s not like stars hollow even had AP programs.
The older I get, the more convinced I am that there’s something fundamentally wrong with men who continue insisting that 18-year-old women are the most attractive women.
Like Kendall x Rachel Leigh Cook
That’s right out of the Gift of Fear. Any acknowledgement and/or engagement resets the length of time for harassment. Like a crying baby.
That’s the thing on Twitter, many times Twitter harassers’ goal is for you to give that contact and acknowledgement through a block. And that block can trigger them to spew more abuse. So the expert thing to so is not to answer, block, or anything, except mute, report, and document the harassing tweets. That’s not bad…
“Surely this girl can’t look THAT much like Kendall Jen-”
And/or she told herself that. Which is exactly that which I would have done. Told myself that if I didn’t engage, his tiresome game would eventually lose steam; told myself that if I blocked him, he might escalate; told myself that this was his escape valve, and that to close it might lead to increasingly dangerous…
