Yes. And did it feature representations of contemporary public figures? That IS the real problem here. Imagine the outrage had this taken place just last year & instead of Trump it featured someone resembling Obama. The reaction would have been FAR worse with accusations flying.

Putting the play in a modern setting is one thing. Having its characters represent real people is another & is highly inappropriate.
