Closer to downtown, 7th Street is actually faster to travel on than I17 or 51 during Rush hour. 4 lane road during the morning and evening, while 51 is 3 lane road with an HOV lane mostly empty. The only real negative is near Mcdowell where it ends and creates a back up in the mornings.
