I’m curious what part of the physics of this makes you say more than 1350 (I’m rounding) horsepower is needed to run an 8 second quarter mile? One megawatt is 1340-1350 hp... There is an army of cars with less than 1300 horsepower that have ran 8 second quarter mile times. Plenty of all wheel drive GT-Rs, 911’s etc on

I’m currently trying to explain why this is beautiful and wonderful to my significant other and with every word I speak the evil eyes get more evil... saying

Koenigsegg quotes a figure of 750 hp with turbos, I wonder what the limiting factor in the flat 12 engine’s design was? What were the engineers projecting would be blowing up or breaking at 750hp that couldn’t be solved with engineering? I.e. stronger or lighter parts?

It was a 2.4 iron block.. the problem was the mitsu 16g turbo it was saddled with from the factory. I’m pretty sure I remember quite a few cars with GT45's (old school turbos lol) that breached 450hp on stock internals . Don’t know how long they lasted after that but I know they existed

Ha I had one of those back in the day. I enjoyed mine, I wanted a fun car but I was just getting started in the Marine Corps and 21 year old me couldn’t afford the Evo I really wanted. The 2004 I owned had a legit factory LSD (unlike nearly every affordable hot hatch or sports car sold right now), getrag transmission

It’s the world of conglomerates not individual manufacturers, I’d be curious to see some of the things we’ve never heard about. The secret things Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini had going before the one ring ruled them all.

Sadly, I think the days of someone being able to determine facts about a vehicle by it’s name are gone now. They’ve all lost their minds to the marketing people’s lunacy lol. Have you noticed Infinity’s new designations? Q70, Q80, QX80?

I kinda always imagined they were named by the company or person who owned them in some sort of inventory system... Sort of like anything owned by a company or military or whatnot. Like trucks for example... Smith & Smith Construction owns a lot of Ford F-250 XLT 4x4 trucks and the company would assign each an
