“Captain Goomba and followed that character’s TKTK SUCCINCT SUMMARY OF WHAT CG WAS DOING. “

The game has a proper ending to the story on disc. This is extra content in addition to that ending. It’s similar to how KH2 has two secret unlockable additonal endings to the main story ending. The main story ending of KH3 is on disc and doesn’t need a patch.

Welp, this sure makes it sound like this game is coming in hot to the finish line.”

He intimately works on every KH title. Yeah, he doesn’t solo direct them anymore, but that isn’t to say that he isn’t directing them still or that his position is merely advisory (there are tons and tons of interviews where he goes into the development of every game; he is also the person responsible for the base

Sweetie, Nomura was the co-director or director on every single KH title. He also remained the person who wrote the base scenario and core concept and design for every game. He’s worked on the series intimately on every title, including the ones since KH2, and is not just “credited as the creator” he helms the entire

he’s finished and shipped over 13 titles under the kingdom hearts banner.

“He clearly doesn’t have the business/project knowledge to make games efficiently or really at all”

who’s only claim to fame is tapping into a design trend”

He’s likely only a character designer for this, and not a creative lead.

“This is inevitable but Nomura couldn’t have phoned this in more if he tried.”

I feel like it’s more just, he was asked a question and he gave an honest answer. “Why is development taking so long?” “We had to switch engines which set us back a bit, and we experienced some staff shortages due to other projects in the company taking priority”. Like that is essentially all he said.

Or maybe he’s just speaking honestly? The game looks like fine in the recent trailers. And honestly, the headline makes his comments sound a lot harsher than they actually are

The initial switch slowed these down a lot because they had to recreate assets and code and they had to learn a new engine. Once they had however, development started moving smoothly and overall it was likely the right path.

You know Directors at a big company can’t just give info whenever they want, right? The KH series’ PR in particular is tied up in Disney and Disney is the one who gives the OK for things like world announcements and the like. Similarly, Nomura wanted to show off footage of FFVIIR a few months ago but was told he was

DDD was the best game in the seriessss.

“I’d wager really good money that Square pulled everyone they possibly could off of other projects and stuck them on FFXIV to try and course correct.”

It’s kinda sad how, because of one game, Nomura has this endless reputation for “extremely long development cycles and long delays”. Meanwhile, Nomura has shipped like 13 Kingdom Hearts games and only one of them experienced an actual delay in development.

Oh they definitely are. They routinely gutted Nomura’s staff to work on FFXIII and then FFXIV.

Pretty sure Nomura is talking about why KH3 is taking so long from announcement (2013) to now. Not in general why it took this long for KH3 to start development.

Zero probably, unless you’re like... REAAAALLY invested into Prompto and also, like, easily emotionally stimulated.
