What has surprised me most about this leak is the number of fanboys who’ve seen the leaked footage, replete with placeholder models, temporary animation, and visible code superimposed on top of the gameplay and gone “WTF, Rockstar?! This doesn’t look like a finished game! What a clown show!”

I mean, you can just say “the two met when Iron Eyes was 12" or something. The issue isn’t they/them pronouns so much as writers not expending the 0.5% extra effort to make sure everything is clear.

I’m not mad about pronouns, but i was confused by the “met Miller when they were 12...” because I thought that meant Miller and Takota Iron Eyes were the same age. There needs to be a better way to talk about a nonbinary person when the sentence includes more than one person.

To this day I think the Assassin’s Creed movie did it best by having it do it’s own thing and tell a story set in the world rather than adapting a game’s plot verbatim while still somehow screwing things up

I really think you might be looking back with rose coloured glasses. I too enjoyed classic final fantasy titles of the PSX/2 era, however i also remember the specific problem with ATB that i think puts off modern gamers.
