I’ve seen (nearly) all of the MCU movies, split between theatre and streaming viewing, but I’ve not been willing to pony up for Disney+. So, yes, this is the point where I’ll be part of that split that no longer bothers keeping up with the MCU.

Because she wants to hide the fact that she’s in an extremist cult from people who don’t know it.

Another fucking bad take from Hughes, add it to the mountain pile.

It’s not a ‘boom’, it’s the soft, wet fart of a damaged ego.

...is it boom? Have you never gotten an ounce of utility from a movie review (or even just a recommendation from a friend who shares your taste) in terms of helping you to decide whether to go see it?

It’s almost like movie critics are not exclusively writing their reviews for Davis.

Yes, this is a pissy, self-centered argument by Davis.

It’s fairly miraculous that they pulled it off. Not only the whole concept of so many interconnected movies each building on the last, but keeping that many superstar egos in check to the point that basically everyone involved remains on very friendly terms.

A lot of it probably goes down to very astute casting, but

Hey, I support his directing career. Or anything else he does that leaves him with less time to write.

“Mainly what I regret is that I directed it, because I am a terrible hack who ruins everything I touch.”

Expertly presented this story in the clickbait-iest way possible. I’m almost impressed.

Yeah and not just the first one, but the response to the second one, which is this is the direct sequel of, was pretty brutal. One might jump to the conclusion that might have a bigger impact than what JK Rowling thinks about transpeople, but then again that doesn’t give that same room for feeling good about moral

I love how people are painting this as a result of JK Rowling’s rants and the Johnny Depp/Amber Heard fight when even the first one, done before all of this became high-profile talking points, was largely met with a resounding “Eh, it exists, I guess” reaction.

  • “I would like to sell this item for 1,655% of what I paid for it.”

You mean the guy from Atlanta...

The most “problematic” thing about this whole scenario, is you calling out Nye as a sellout. You go to great lengths to explain how coke has a huge problem with waste, yet somehow insinuate it’s Bill Nye’s fault for making a commercial. Bill Nye has done more in his 66 years on this planet to educate children and

And Discovery also veered the other way, in that the whole crew act like a bunch of college freshman in a dorm trying desperately to fit in and become besties with each other. And they picked the worst of them to be the RA.

People used to rake TNG over the coals for elevated a mental health professional to such a prominent role in the crew.

I’m not some Rodenberry purist who demands a conflict-free future, but one of the appeals of TNG was that it was a crew of competent professionals who had mostly made peace with their personal issues and handled interpersonal disputes healthily, in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect. I wouldn’t even have

Not from this production team. I want them to hand the reins over to different creative leads before they attempt a Next-Next Generation.
