No. Fellowship is the best of the trilogy. Helms deep and golem are impressive, but story wise, character interaction wise the first one is far better. Tree Beard and the Ents are poorly done in particular. They never quite get them right.

I felt that Lord of the Rings was nominated in 2004 for the trilogy, not the individual film.
