I can respect that. I don’t mind a difference in opinion when discussing film. Thanks for the conversation.

I disagree. The mother is consumed with an unquenchable thirst for justice.. it makes her dizzy. She isn’t consumed by hate, but by justice for a victim, her daughter.

No. Fellowship is the best of the trilogy. Helms deep and golem are impressive, but story wise, character interaction wise the first one is far better. Tree Beard and the Ents are poorly done in particular. They never quite get them right.

I felt that Lord of the Rings was nominated in 2004 for the trilogy, not the individual film.

THIS! Six bloggers talking to each other does not a controversy make.

And by the way, to cross the streams, there is going to be a white critic who eventually gets around to pointing out that Black Panther has some flaws. My advice to him (and it will be a him) is to put his family in witness protection first.

There’s a bit of a difference between an inquisitive question about what was the thought process around Han’s funeral, and pointing out legit flaws in script writing and characters decisions.

Thomas and his friends learn about a company called W.C.K.D, which stands for the “World Catastrophe Killzone Department.”

But you see the issue, right? We have many, many words that are intensifiers already. We have very few that mean “actually happened in a specific and literal sense.” So we’re just losing a tool from our toolkit the way we’ve lost “ironic,” and that’s sad.

Your use of “villain mac villain face” and “go yoink” made me literally laugh out loud. I say “yoink” all the time in real life. Stealing a fry off my friend’s plate? “Yoink!”

Zach Snyder has made about 2½ DCEU movies. Man of Steel and Batman v Superman are all his. David Ayer is responsible for Suicide Squad, and Justice League is an uncomfortable mix of Snyder and Whedon. I don’t think that Whedon will be blamed for JL’s disappointments given his track record and the fact that he was

Here’s the simple fact: The Washington Post did journalism the right way, and Jezebel did not.

creativity is not dead but the wrong groups keep killing it. Dark Matter is not going to get a season 4. Dark Matter is an excellent show by my standards. But Like StarGate Universe it is on SyFy and that is where shows go to die.

Statistically speaking, I am unlikely to see the new Nate Silver movie.

I’m far too buzzed doing retail therapy on my bday (🎉) at the local mall to find the relevant quote from Shatner’s Star Trek movie memoir, but his original idea for ST V was sound(ish).

I despise the term “bernie bro”. Maybe because it’s meant to disparage people like me. The corporate Democratic Party is a failure and their rejection of policies they deem to be “too socialist” will keep that failure going towards annihilation. The base of the Progressive coalition is a fair economic system that

No, and I also read the first paragraph of the article.
