The first season was fun but I couldn’t help thinking why it was a series and not a film.

Sure... but Ignatiy is questioning the producers reason’s for greenlighting it, not the artist for wanting to create it.
Well you just speculated in the same manner I did. It’s difficult not to in case like this. No harm was intended and of course the finger should not be pointed at anyone until after an investigation. I was on a set when the news broke and everyone, including props and the camera crew were shocked but also speculating,…
It’s a weird one. The fact that it was crew and not an actor suggest it was misuse, unless in the shot he was firing at or close to the camera in a POV type of shot? But even then why two hit parties? you would think there would only be one. I guess it will all come out.
Deleted.
The plot sounds very on the nose but feck it, someone had to do it and it could be fun.
Yes Star Trek needs to evolve. Yes it shouldn’t be the Star Trek of my youth. But it also shouldn’t be a dumb as a bag of rocks action show.
I imagine his first movie will have some jokes about trying and failing to get properly integrated in the MCU.
Tigger is a “national treasure”? Yes but of the U.K.
Ingrid Goes West was great.
See I think the movie itself is different than it was intended to be. As with a lot of big budget studio comedies there is very little of actual humor in the script. So they just get too set and say to someone like Waititi or Reynold “now adlib something funny!” And I’m sure they have a laugh on set about all the…
Shawn Levy is a comedy black hole and once he was attached to direct this it was dead in the water. There is some worth in his work in that giant robot fighting movie that everyone loved way too much and as a producer on a couple of decent projects but he cut his comedy teeth in Nickelodeon level movies and shows and…
Watched it for the first time recently. Maybe it had been built up too much as a B-movie classic because I thought it was dull as hell. It has a lot going for it, it looks great, sounds great, as are the stunts and practical effects. But The Wraith itself was such an half-arsed, undercooked idea and the plot makes so…
But what makes it Trek? It should be more than having some recognizable ship designs and alien races and shoving Spock at us at every opportunity. If they want to make something else then call it something else.
No good will come of Star Trek with Kurtzman at the wheel (admittedly I haven’t seen Lower Decks). He’s just a bookish Michael Bay. His every instinct is wrong for the material.
At it’s core X-com has, for me, the best gameplay in existence. Yet someone at 2k/Fireaxis wants to bury it among bland Overwatch style designs, crap sub- par sci-fi melodrama plot and is constantly trying to distract me and get in the way of the amazing gameplay. They seem to think all the worse parts of the games…
You make it sound like these are controversial opinions, which may say more about the state of discourse around movies, particularly not wanting to be perceived as jumping on a hate bandwagon or not supporting female led movies.
I don’t think it’s been said often enough since it’s release but The Tomorrow War is bad. Very Bad. Like Jurassic World 2 bad.
I think Pratt would be a terrible Indy. Indy has to be able to switch gears between charming adventurer and expositiony professor with ease. The idea of Pratt talking earnestly about the grail or ark doesn’t bear thinking about. I thought he was awful in Jurrasic Park and this when required to do anything serious.
Jesus, someone has a lighthearted opinion of a (bad) movie and you end up calling them a “Jackass.” It’s ok, I don’t think this commenter wants to, or is in a position to, ban Madea movies.
