Suspiria was the bigger influence on Black Swan I would have thought, Aronovsky was once attached to the remake of it too.

But why should it have to go in new directions and what makes you think the shallow world set up by Lucas is deep enough to support it?

Well the moment was meant to be shocking. If she had gone out of her way to kill innocents before then it wouldn’t be an “oh f*ck” moment. They certainly tried to build up to the point where Dany could believe that what she was doing was actually a good thing. Was it rushed? Yes. It could have done with more of Dany

Yes it is serving as a counter balance to Discovery.

Yeah and Highlander is only ok and it was his watermark. Resident Evil has all the craft of a Kinder Surprise toy. When I hear someone say the “Resident Evil movies are fun” it’s one of those warning sirens to remove myself from the conversation. Along with “MSM”, “SJW” and “Did you listen to the Joe Rogan podcast

Good thing you aren’t one of those over reacting whiny guys. You are handling this vague quote like a real grown up.

After TLJ: “Anyone who doesn’t like it is a big man-baby who are only upset because something they liked didn’t turn out the way they hoped and they need to grow up.”

Wanting something original would be not wanting anymore Star Wars. And it’s not an infinite universe, it’s very much a finite fictional universe built around a couple of key ideas.

But read between the lines. The implication is that there was something unusual and negative about how Sanders conducted himself after he lost the Primary (there wasn’t). And that his supports were “pissbabies” and didn’t rally behind Hillary (they did). Now these lies are been used to do damage to his campaign this

They hardly defected if they were never going to vote for an establishment Democrat like Hillary or Obama. The implication is that there was something unusual about the “Berniebro” movement. It’s a myth helped spread by Russain bots to further divide the Democratic Party.

“A small but not insignificant group of his supporters hated Hillary so much they defected to Trump” Evidence? The idea that there was an unusual number of Bernie voters who didn’t vote for Hillary is a fallacy, in fact more Sanders primary supporters voted for Clinton in the general election than Clinton supporters

What kind of doctor are you? Evidently the kind of doctor who has time to create a Kinja account a day ago and seemingly spend all of your time since been a bit of an argumentative d*ck online.

Did you do an office poll? Is that the royal we? Is io9 a hive mind? Sorry to nitpick but I see this on the site an awful lot so am just wondering.

I don’t get the stagnant label. We had three movies from 40 years ago that are generally well liked. Then three prequel movies from 20 years ago that really did do new things (but the writing and direction were stagnant). And then that was mostly it as far as the general public were concerned.

Don’t say nobody did, you don’t speak for everybody. Just reading some of these comments alone shows that.

It’s not a classic but it has the courtroom scene, which stands with anything from the original.

Have you watched it again recently? Now the culture war, picking sides, emotions have died down? It’s pretty bad... flabby and messy as f*ck and has zero scripted jokes or witty dialogue. How funny you find it really depends on how amusing up find Kate McKinnon making funny faces.

I hope she gets the chance to make that one face she makes in everything.

“Fuck Bernie and his Bros. They are both divisive and encourage abuse towards women and POC.” So putting aside the lack of self awareness how exactly has Bernie encouraged violence against POC and women?
