I disagree strongly. While Gears 3 slipped through the crevices of young adulthood and responsibility, I spent considerable hours in 1 & 2. Gears 4 felt completely natural to that experience.

On the campaign side it was long and boring slog of doing the exact same shit over and over. I only perservered because I kept

I am about four classes away from it.” She declined to name the school, saying, “I don’t want them to get harassed.”

No one is “stuck” in a Gold or Gamepass subscription. This isn’t a gym membership where they’ll all but take your first born child to keep you signed up. It’s one click on the website to cancel. “But I want the products offered though” is not being “stuck” in the subscription, that’s called... wanting the products

Dan Simmons, somebody has read your Hyperion Cantos. Come get your Shrike money.

I can’t wait for this to come out and be just as terrible as the original version.

I liked the early Expanse books the best because you could tell it was all about the Coreys’ love for Alien and Outland.

Bautista is a far better actor than he’s given credit for. His cut scenes from Blade Runner 2049 show some of that, although I understand why they were cut. I would like to see him play the lead in a plain old drama, perhaps about family dynamics. Something not trying to be a silly comedy based on his physical (ahem)

One ping only, please.

I always imagined that Outland was set in the Alien universe, maybe a few decades before they developed FTL.

Now playing

Said it before: While he was absolutely terrific in so many well known roles, from Bond to The Untouchables to Last Crusade, one of my favorite Connery roles was that in Outland.

One last ping, Captain Ramius.

I suspect that’s because Marvel can be any number of things and most fans are just fine with that. For a vocal minority of Star Wars fans, the franchise can only be one thing, and I suspect that after Rise of Skywalker — a movie that was supposed to make everybody happy, but satisfied no one —Disney is starting to

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is fun. Mostly because of Alan Rickman. I miss him.

I would argue that TLJ is the best of the sequels — certainly the best-looking — but that’s not saying much. The stuff with Rey and Luke is great but the B-plot with the chase story is deadly dull — and a ripoff of BSG 2.0's “33.” (And yes, I’m sure Johnson recognized the irony of a Star Wars movie ripping off Battlest

Indeed. The people who hate TLJ seem to think they represent majority opinion for some reason. Presumably because they all hang out together?

Except it wasn’t a mess from start to finish. It has issues, but it’s a good film overall.

Yeah, there are some dropped balls in Coppola’s Dracula, but for my money, it’s the best. No version is perfect, but I love Eiko Ishioka’s costumes, Gary Oldman’s Count, the look of the film, Anthony Hopkins’ Van Helsing, Tom Waits’ Renfield, Lucy’s big lizard collar, and the music.

I trust your taste, but S1 just left me so bitter in how dumb it was to propel the story forward I don’t think I can give it another shot. I’d sooner just watch the 90's reboot attempt again. Not good either, but not without its charms (some seriously good casting, not to mention original cast member cameos).

Hilarious. Let’s let the LA Times decide what is and isn’t a pandemic, and not the WHO. Why don’t we let the Times develop a vaccine also? Just underscores how much of this is media-driven.

I can’t wait for the Section 31 show that stars space Hitler. That’ll be great!
