Daniel Dae Kim’s accent was bad enough to be a distraction every time he spoke. When the accent is that bad, the director either needs to recast or just let the actor use their native accent. It’s not like we don’t have Americans living in the UK. So it wouldn’t be weird to have a character with an American accent,…
There is only one person I feel could equal Alfred Molina as Doc Ock:
Say what you will about Favreau’s *excellent* Iron Man in 2008...
He actually seems like a pretty jocular fellow in this interview
That does not sound like Tom Hanks as Woody. Did he skip this?
I still don’t get the “Inception ripoff” thing... more accurately, Inception ripped off old Doctor Strange comics
I just wish people would realize that there’s literally no way to make everyone happy when it comes to films/shows, and for the most part cast/crews are doing the best they can.
It’s sadly not a weird hot take, it’s par for these course on these outlets these days. Outrage or disappointment for their sake...not when actually called for. There are real portrayals and bad writing to take issue with, without forcing it into places it doesn’t exist.
Saying any choice to change one’s circumstances…
I almost agree with you 100%. Palpatine coming back worked conceptually but was poorly managed. But would have preferred Rey not to be a Palpatine - maybe make her interesting for him in another way.
I agree with you on almost everything (and pretty nice summary compared to my post). My only differences are that I didn’t dislike Rey’s retcon and Palpatine’s return made sense (in making this trilogy feel more cohesive with the previous ones) although it was poorly managed.
Sounds like you didn’t understand the movie. That was very clear
Ugh, my stomach is in knots. I’m so excited and so looking forward to it but I just really don’t want to constantly run into the crowd that’s going to hate it no matter what.
Right? Like, the old Taxi Driver style movie is reasonably well-suited to a baddie like The Joker, but I’m not sure how this Scorsese approach works as a blanket methodology.
Why would a broad-brush approach like this work? Don’t they ever learn?
Every so often, Warner stumbles into getting things right by falling ass-backwards into it, and then proceeds to take the worst possible lesson from that success. That’s the closest they come to learning.
They learn all the time. They just don’t learn the right things.
Nope. Just let Pattt Jenkins run things you sexists cowards.
I’m hoping they’ll be smart here and sort of create a Black Label movie imprint. Release the occasional grounded and gritty movie with characters or ideas that approach works with, but still give us stuff like WW and Shazam. Almost like what Netflix and Marvel used their deal for.
I can never decide between his end or Legion's. Both tear me up something chronic.
