Its hard not to think of Solo and how much more fun it would have been with Lord and Miller finishing. I didn’t hate it but it is kinda dull.

Aside from some terrible CGI (which i cannot imagine will be in final movie) it looks good. McKenzie looks like a good pick.

Why produce a trailer where the apparent reveal is the character, then write the shows name including the title character in bottom left?

Honestly after a disappointing season i’d agree with Rob they got most of the finale right. Not sure it could have ended any other way without defying logic completely.

I like Liman but isnt this film aboyt 5-10 years too late?

Interesting choice, akin to Ledger. Pattinson is a very talented dude, even though i may not alwayss like his movies.

I’d normally be inclined to agree....but as cynical as I am about their live action remakes and prequels (Jungle Book aside, which was surprisingly decent) the quality of Lucasfilm/Marvel/Pixars output under Disney for the most part seems good. Perhaps those studios have more latitude and different creatives.

Because taking a despicable Disney villain (lady who flays dogs alive to make coats) and putting her against an ever worseerer villain to make her look sympathetic, is apparently the new way to make movies and...makes sense?

Add lots of fun and that’s a good description.

The Wicker Woman?

People ask the creative team about a film, they answer and its “destroying the goodwill of the movie”. Good Lord.

Jon is as dead as double denim. Sansa will be on throne.

I keep running this through in my head and the only logical reason I can come up with for Dany’s actions are ...plot contrivance and #omgdrama.

Ruffalo was great in merged Hulk, a big surprise but i’m happy to be suprised and my expectations over-turned (ala Luke in TLJ). It was nice to see them really move the character forward and not simply recycle him mindlessly smashing things again.

Agreed.

People only ever remember when remakes are terrible/dull though. When they work and do something new (The Thing 1982, Scarface 1983, Little Shop of Horrors 1980, hopefully Dune 2020) the remake thing is kinda forgotten about... quite right really.

I’d go for a relative unknown/rising star for lead, like Florence Pugh and cast the bad-guy and supporting players as bigger stars. IMO

I dunno , i see your pint but the fact Cliffhanger is disposable and silly means it probably a better option for a remake than say Gone With The Wind.

Does Lena Headley only have one facial expression (smug malevolence) or it is deliberate choice for Cersei?

I think for all this foreboding its going to be a much more simple resolution to all these issues.
