A hard pass to the version of Tarkin they had in Rogue One for me. Reasons?; a) weird CG face, check b) freakishly too tall, check. Good voice though.

About Nolan ^^^- we should be grateful there is actually a big budget director who makes entertaining films (yes they can be flawed) aimed at people who can think.. Without Nolan and the like it would be a mire of Synder and Bay.

Equality, representation and good roles for all is something we should all applaud and shoot for....but the recent jaunt down the rabbit hole of identity politics is troubling and is causing more divisions than healing divides (IMO).

I thought Rose was great in John Wick 2. Yeah shes mute but added to character. IMO of course.

It was like the Breakfast Club with kung-fu and no jokes and memorable characters. I’m pretty sure all pretty sure all Yellow Ranger said was “Lets do this!” or “We got this guys!” for the entire movie and the lead ranger looked like a 40 year old man pretending to go to school like some sort of Jump Street rip-off.

Bautista is not replaceable I don’t think.. Drax isn’t a huge role but its now too associated with him to be recast. Can you imagine anyone else pulling off his invisibility joke from Avengers IW for e.g? Howard was fine as Rhodey but that’s a different deal.

Biggest mistake they made was making Batman old in BvS. Now they are stuck with a 48 year old Batman and whoever they cast in a prequel will have to look and act like Affleck.

Apart from Annihilation I would agree. Cloverfield Paradox was really truly dire.

To counterpoint the typical toxic SW discussion, I’d like say that I like JJ and Rian Jonson though I think the latter is a much more interesting film-maker (TFA was more fan service and TJL genuinely surprised me which I loved).

1/5 of fans will boycott it...by ‘boycott’ I mean they say they will, but then will go and see it wanting it to be shit and will end up confirming their own internal bias.

Reeve pretty much personified the hopefulness of the character for sure.  yep, that bit in Returns is magic, I’m pretty sure Routh uses his nose breath to disconnect some too...awesome.
