I have a higher Miller tolerance than most (mostly based on Dark Knight Returns) but having seen the Spirit, i’m not sure this is good thing.

Michael Bay? Ok....Is it all shot at magic hour? Are scenes all devoid of dialogue and take place in helicopters? Is the action shot so close to be confusing? Does he seem not to care about characters and everything is exposition? Are there borderline racist tropes/cliches floating about?
Agree on first point that people conflate not liking it (for legit reasons which is fine, even if I disagree) with being a bigot..... and that needs to stop as it doesn’t help reasonable discourse.
People are still talking about the physics of this? Who knew ;)
Great news and not unexpected, was Luke ever not coming back?
Agreed but on the other hand Argo is actually quite good and the humour /stakes are well balanced.
No way Disney is taking him back (though i think they should)
It was pretty good, just Hiddleston and Larson were a bit bland (and i love them), John C Rielly completely stole the movie IMO.
I hope so on first count and id like to think its the paucity of clever sci-fi that is driving the cart rather than the other way round; after all is Westworld can be a hit and HBO are willing to drop $100 million on a mind-bending grown up sci-fi like that it proves there has to be an audience.
He is a brilliant director but I do wonder if Dune will just fall into same trap that BR2049 did, i.e critically dazzling and really interesting but a commercial bomb.
Its a tricky subject and although some arguments for making Danny non-White kinda convince me, overall i’d agree that the approach they took (make Danny white and diversify the rest of the cast) was probably the one I would have gone with.
Titans tone is definitely a curious surprise (and not a goof one) with the whole swearing and violence thing there to look cool and edgy rather than any actual reason. Felt a bit like Miley Cyrus all of a sudden vamping herself up and grinding herself on everyone in videos like a dog with worms to look grown up, or…
Rufus Sewll is fantastic, he really humanized the character, though I suspect the quality of the writing helped.
Is finding and unleashing a whole heap of monsters really the best way to save the planet? Or did i misread the plot?
Boring unoriginal start (kid is bullied, blah blah) but gotta admit the rest looks fun.
I kinda like to see my Doctor be a bit of a dick to his companions first until they earn his trust but then again its just a trailer.
How about bombastic drum beats which match the cutting or action on screen?
I’m not sure the fight choreography being done by Black Panther guy really inspires me, sorry guys. I liked that movie, its politics and thought provoking themes, great casting, etc, etc but the action and screen combat was one of the lesser aspects IMO. That said given how disappointing IF s1 was, they can only get…
Please don’t be linked to Cloverfield. Paradox was really rather bad.
Yes....and that’s the problem as that film was not good. Not helped by fact Charlie Hunham seems like a man trying really hard to do a British accent, which is odd as hes from Newcastle, UK.
