Bloody hell. I rage hard whenever someone insinuated I got my job because I was a woman (internally, can’t go setting off the delicate dudebros “bitch”-ometers). I got my job because I’m a bad-ass with a stellar resume who worked my ass off to both make it through university while taking an insane amount of

nah. you’re not weird. they have really hot make-out seshes. Which makes me sad, since apparently she chooses Jordan. #teamluke

I would lose my marbles if I ever accidentally ended up in a race that had the women starting after the men (for triathlon). I get that on average men are faster than women, but I beat 95% of the men (on the swim) so I’d lose it having to pass all those people.

It’s the best!!! I definitely let the macho men tire themselves out first, sure, they can probably(?) beat me in a full-blown short spring, but since I was never a sprinter it doesn’t bother me. I just think about how damn fast I’d be if I had their height and arm length, and revel in lapping them over and over and

I got started in the triathlon world through my swimming. When I quit I was feeling rather lost, so I started swimming with the local tri club (and only swimming, no racing or anything). I also was a cross-country runner in high-school so I was doing non-triathlon running around that same time period.

And people say that sexism is dead.

Ooooh! That’s fascinating, I had not heard that. That summary there does make a lot of sense though..

Gah. that’s my exact opposite. I’m a retired swimmer turned triathlete, so swimming is my secrete weapon before I get to watch half the field pass me on the bike. At least my bike is slowly improving!!

So torn here. I’m full ‘fuck yes!!!!!’ to this amazing woman for this accomplishment, while simultaneously feeling a huge ‘fuck YOU’ to the men accusing her of cheating.

Snarky! That’s the word I was looking for.

Are you actually asking? Or just... yeah.

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks! That makes a lot more sense. I blame my Canadian-ness on also not knowing US economy stuff.

I’m having a very tired day. Can someone explain why this is so great? I want to love it, but my brain just can’t.

Gah. you Americans. You can’t find a flat beer at the liquor store for 2.50 up here.

I quit swimming back in 2008. I went to club nats and westerns for a few years (I think it would’ve been 2005, 2006, 2007), always chasing that elusive senior nat time.

Where in Calgary? Patriots or Cascade?

Fort McMurray north (good catch). Though I did do a fair amount of training in Edmonton since at the time Fort Mac didn’t have a long course pool.
