The only reason he was forced to pull Miers is because the hard right was afraid she wasn’t sufficiently right-wing enough.

Hey now, just because he talks like a racist and acts like a racist doesn’t mean you can call him racist! /s

He’s also the one who “cleared” Trump to go back on the campaign trail, even though he’s still visibly sick and contagious as all hell.

Yeah, this is classic soldiering, the only news here is that it’s actually being put into a Field Manual. Get Sleep/rest whenever you can, because you never know when you won’t be able to.

There’s a very good reason for seemingly silly tour riders like “bowl of M&Ms with only the green ones” - it’s there as a canary. That is, the tour rider also has various safety precautions and gear setup instructions, because there’s a lot of electrical equipment in play for a rock band that can be exceedingly

Perhaps have Mr. Samuel L. Jackson be the moderator.

Not really, no. It was even the name of a popular Japanese Rock Band (Originally “X”, and later “X Japan” in order to differentiate from an American Band of the same name). They might run into some copyright issues, though.

Speaking of... I volunteered to help at the polls this year as an election official, not because I discount the pandemic, but rather because I know there’s certainly volunteers from past years that are likely far older and way more at risk than I am.

That looks utterly delicious.

Serena Joy wasn’t just some imaginary character - she was based on common real world archetypes.

If Gore won in his state, then it’s fair to say that it didn’t matter that he voted for Nader. The same is reasonably true if he voted in a state that was deep red and Bush unsurprisingly won it by a large margin.

Add increasing the size of the House of Representatives to more actually be representative of the population, rather than diluting the votes of the more populous states. This is entirely within Congress’s constitutional authority to set, and has the added advantage of correspondingly altering the number of electors

Yep. He doesn’t respect anyone.

Wouldn’t just be that. He’s done immense damage in just the short time he’s had. He’s been going through and eliminating people who aren’t total sycophants to him, bit by bit. Within another 4 years or so he’ll probably have purged most of the senior career (ie non political appointed) folks from all the agencies and

A few of them have started to speak up, but it’s important to parse their words. They’re fine with cheating so long as they can give it the veneer of constitutional legitimacy. Outright military coup is still something they’re not willing to openly talk about resorting to.

The bottom line in all of it is that the closer the election is, the more room they have to muddy the waters and to try and steal it. The most immediate thing we can do about it is vote, and get everyone we can to do so too, because the wider the margin, the harder it is for them to deny and steal. Stealing one state

I think it’s fair to say that some of their confidence is not because they know they’ll win, but because they believe firmly that the Democrats will not answer in kind even if they regain power. And truth be told, there’s certainly historical reason for them to think so.

I think it has more to do with the fact that everyone on the internet has an opinion they think you need to know.

In fairness, that was six years ago. I don’t think she expected it would be quite that long of a drought before she would’ve been able to (in theory) safely retire again.
