Don’t forget expanding the size of Congress. Make the House more representational of the people, and make the electoral votes better distributed too (since each House Seat is one EV). And while they’re at it, take back (re)districting from the states and make it completely nonpartisan. All of these things can be done

Keep in mind that, unless they can ram it through prior to the election (which is a pretty tight timetable compared to before the end of the lame duck session), that if/when McSally loses to Kelly, Kelly takes the seat immediately, because it’s a replacement election. He doesn’t wait until the new Senate gets seated.

ACA Repeal (along with McCain). But that was about the only vote of any consequence, in the Trump years, that they opposed on.

As others have said, they have zero leverage in terms of parliamentary ability. About the only thing that might work is to threaten, either publicly or privately, that if the Rs push ahead and do this, that the Democrats will commit to packing the Court (This really only works though if we can get Biden and a Senate

Most likely what happens is that the Republicans ram through a replacement, and then in 2016, presuming Democratic control of White House and Senate, they start Court Packing, because it’s about the only reasonable solution at this point, since they’re not gonna get the 2/3rds needed to impeach.

Clearly he was insufficiently inspiring in 2014, thus causing lots of people on the left to stay home in the midterms, leading to a record low turnout even by midterm standards, and winding up changing what was a Democratic controlled Senate into one held by Republicans to this fucking day. Because clearly the answer

Quite possibly, but in comparing him to Trump, if all he had to do was play the part of standard Republican Drone #8613, then I assume he’s capable of that, because that’s basically all he does anyway.

Given Trump’s propensity for projection, I think we can guess who’s really having the mental acuity issues here.

These are the same people who simultaneously believe that the government is staffed with bumbling morons completely incapable of doing anything right, and at the same time is full of fiendishly clever agents expertly concealing massive conspiracies from the public and the world at large.

I find myself wondering just how different things would have been had someone else, like say Rubio, won the Republican nomination in 2016.

This, seriously. The important point isn’t what name we stick on the program, or necessarily even minute details - it’s where it gets us and how. Getting to net zero emissions by 2050 is a very good thing, especially when you consider that the alternative is a guy with a plan to INCREASE emissions.

And yet, part of what keeps scumbags like Graham in thrall to Trump is the fact that they think the only danger to them politically is a primary. Seeing them lose some general elections because they sucked up to Trump might go a long way to putting the fear of actual voters into them.

I’m hearing it even now.

That or they’re “undecided” in name only just to get up there and ask their questions. To which I say, the Republicans long ago jumped ship from being able to complain about lies, then set the ship on fire before sinking it to the bottom of the Mariana trench.

Absolutely. More town halls with voters asking the actual tough questions, please. Even better if it’s paired with Biden, who can then knock them out of the park.

What part of “Climate Change makes this worse” doesn’t get through to you? Certainly no one is suggesting that Climate Change is the ONLY reason for fires, or that there were no fires in the past.

Jaywalking maybe - mostly because I can’t see any of these entitled assholes bothering to walk anywhere rather than demanding to be driven, even just across the street.

So to explain, in a nice wet forest after a rain, even if someone tries to start a fire it’s not going to go very far, if at all. The spark that started it is largely irrelevant, whether it’s a faulty trailer hitch, a bolt of lightning, or some asshole starting a fire to try and cover up a murder. It’s the conditions

We just need John Goodman on repeat loop saying:
“Shut the fuck up, Donny, you’re out of your element.”

She’ll be 37 by then, that’s a little old by Trump family standards.
