That’s just a New York Crime family, that happens to make nice with Nazis. (Not that that’s any better, mind you)

This is really key. It’s not about demanding that fees be paid, it’s leaving people in limbo because there’s no way to discover what or if you owe, nor are they even trying to get the fees paid. They instead just want to have that threat to hold over these people that they might get arrested and thrown back in jail if…
The bottom line is that you’re not going to move the party left by lamenting the fact that moderates are winning, and threatening to stay home. If the left wants influence, it needs to show up and vote, every time. Sanders couldn’t even win the Democratic primary, so how on earth does anyone expect he could do better…
I would also think that Japanese companies probably aren’t as concerned about backlash from Japanese consumers over this, as it isn’t something that would be as polarizing in Japan as in America. (Though, the fact that it’s seen as polarizing in America is pretty fucked up, for the record)
They also showed zero interest in trying to find a compromise, even if that was their “starting negotiation” position.
Yeah, those people who like reliable and inexpensive cars with AWD. THOSE people.
Clearly Monica Lewinsky needs to ask the Jalopnik writers for help in a “What car should I buy?” segment, where Jason Torchinsky can recommend a JDM Nissan Pao, and David Tracy can recommend a decades old Jeep. :)
The fact that Trump even tweeted out about it indicates that Trump is absolutely trying to use it as distraction. That is, he wants people arguing over whether Woodward was justified to delay, rather than people focusing on the fact that Trump himself lied about it in the first place.
As I said, it’s not behavior I would defend - but it is a venal sin, and it is a criticism of Woodward in terms of journalistic practices, and as such is a very, very minor thing.
While I’m not going to defend Woodward’s actions, please do keep in mind that this is being used as a distraction to try and deflect attention from the fact that Trump knew what was coming, lied about it, and tens of thousands died that didn’t need to.
The only thing the tapes make clear is that he doesn’t have ignorance as an excuse, it was pure malice aforethought.
Software QA for anything other than games is fine. The problem with games is that the companies know there’s a huge pool of people who think that Game QA means they get paid to play video games, and thus, the companies tend to pay the bare minimum, and consider you entirely disposable.
More specifically, never ever go into Game QA.
To some degree I think the problem has been generational. The Reagan and post-Reagan era tracks pretty well with the rise of the Baby Boomers as a political force, and unfortunately, they have proven relatively irresponsible on the whole in political terms, with a propensity towards a “buy now, pay later” economic…
The Republican health plan: Hurry up and Die.
He did, but it wasn’t a tell-all. You’re definitely right, and it comes from the sort of ‘quietist’ tradition of the military senior officer ranks to not criticize sitting civilian leadership, largely deriving from the constitutional principle of civilian control of the military. So far the most he’s done is to allude…
I mean, I could compare him to Churchill... it just wouldn’t be very pretty, because for all of Churchill’s personal failings they only add up to a molehill next to Trump’s. Meanwhile Churchill was able to actually put the national interest ahead of his own, obey the laws, show some human decency now and then... etc.
I mean, he -has- said that he takes responsibility for how badly it went, and for not doing more to protect her.
And I didn’t vote for him in the primary either. But I’m also a fucking adult, and I know that liver and onions may not be my favorite, but it’s a hell of a lot more palatable than a pile of steaming horseshit.
