Why is Ready Player One getting trashed? I'm halfway through the book at the moment and I think it's great.

I watched this on Saturday. Besides the animated series, I'm not a huge Batman fan; but this was a complete joy. It has a unique and interesting story, great takes on iconic characters, and is incredibly funny. It's also visually stunning, but the humour is its greatest strength - I don't think I can overstate how…
I'm really looking forward to 'Mad Love' - that's the Harley origin story, right? All of those episodes are from 'The New Batman Adventures'/DVD Volume 4 with all the redesigns I've heard so much about. What is the general consensus on those episodes, I've heard mixed things…
I love the way West is used in that episode. Instead of going down the whole "oh look, there are two Batmans in this episode, look - two!" route, they crafted a sweet story about Bruce's admiration for the Gray Ghost. It's sort of a love letter to the 60s Batman without it feeling forced.
Yeah, I've been reading through the A.V. Club reviews of the series. There's some great insight in some of them. I find the poorer episodes are more inoffensive and bland than outright bad. The Clock King episode is fantastic. I know there is a second TAS episode featuring him but I haven't gotten to that one yet.
I was searching online for the order to watch the episodes as I heard about discrepancies with both the production order and airing order. If you type in "batman episode timeline" into Google, the first result has an altered order that moves some of the episodes around to create a more serialised arrangement. It…
I also finished watching Stranger Things this weekend. I was up to episode 3 at the start of the week and it still hadn't hooked me, but by episode 4 I was burning through the remaining episodes almost as quickly as Jean-Ralphio ran out of the house when The Monster burst through the wall.
I posted last week about how I have been watching Batman: The Animated Series for the first time, but my comment was detected as spam. I guess The A.V. Club aren't fans of the series. They may not be, but I am. What a fantastic series. I watched the first three episodes early last year (up to the first Scarecrow…
I don't know what I expected…
I've been here, I've just been quiet.
Hitchcock: And once again, Hitchcock and Scully save the day.
Homer: Hmm, I don't know… I can just imagine what Marge would say.
Sam Marin is a guy (along with Pops and Benson), but the unicorn is female.
Bert Cooper reincarnated as an animated unicorn.
Shhh…
DON'T WAKE STALIN!
Yep. There were definite hints of Pops and Benson in her voice.
Bender, smell this milk.
"Now that Lenny's in, Carl will fall like a domino"
Hey, that smells like regular. She needs premium, dude! PREMIUM! DUUUUUDE!
I'm currently on season 6 of Mad Men, and I've been browsing through the A.V. Club comments to find some of your recently made remarks. The 'major event' was also ruined for me, but the execution and the build up to the event is heart-breakingly brilliant that I was not at all bothered by my prior knowledge.
