Yeah, I agree with that. Though I’m really hesitant and a bit upset that the whole torrenting technology is being demonized. There is even a growing sentiment that torrenting should be illegal all together. Which seems ridiculous, but ignorant minds seems to be winning out lately.

Yeah, I’d have conceded the argument at that point too.

Ad populum fallacy. Guilt by association fallacy. You have no point.

Hail Hydra!

So... just stop? No more fighting crime?

“If you absolutely have to get movies and books for free, make sure you’re doing it responsibly”

HAIL HYDRA!

It has nothing to do with morals, it’s about convenience and price. I don’t want to have to use a specific player to access a movie I legally purchased, I fucking bought it if I want to throw it up on Plex to stream around the house then I should be able to. I don’t want to have to use a specific viewer to read a book

Yeah, sure, the fact they searched for it and found it is evidence they were willing to bear some cost to get it.

# seeds and leeches on any number of public or private trackers.

Citations? Oh wait, there haven’t been independent studies proving that piracy is hurting the industry. If there was not piracy, I would not have bought the things that I didn’t. I just would not have them. But studies do show that pirates in general buy more products. http://kotaku.com/5864996/these-…

Settle down there, Littlest T. Some of us have paying attention to this whole wheelhouse for almost 20 years now.

If they were never willing to buy it then that means they didn’t want it and they would have never downloaded it for free in the first place. Yet they went through the trouble and risk of downloading it, so that means they wanted it and that is a lost sale.

did cain ever go down? Maybe its all just cain?

Also the reason if it wasn’t free there would never have been a sale in the first place doesn’t work. If that was true then they would have never downloaded the book for free in the first place either. If you download it, it means you want it. And that means a lost sale.

His point is that USING a torrent site is not illegal. It’s the content that you choose to download that is.

ARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Otherwise known as the most desperate and sad article ever published anywhere outside of the Brony fandom.

Yes, that makes sense. I was thinking of it as one article negating all the good they have done. Looks like your definition trumps mine.

“Do not commit a crime in the first place.”
Don’t quit your day job in the first place.
